Terms of Service
W. Stinnett Personal Chef Services
Effective Date: March 1, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) outline the agreement between W. Stinnett Personal Chef (“Chef,” “Company,” “we,” or “us”) and the client (“Client,” “you,” or “your”) for personal chef, meal preparation, knife sharpening, and related culinary services.
By booking services or submitting payment, the Client agrees to the following Terms.
1. Nature of Service
W. Stinnett Personal Chef provides in-home personal chef and meal preparation services customized to each Client’s preferences, dietary needs, allergies, and scheduling requirements.
Services may include, but are not limited to:
Weekly or bi-weekly meal preparation
Grocery shopping
In-home cooking
Kitchen cleanup
Food labeling and reheating instructions
Knife sharpening
Private culinary services
Catering and cooking classes (subject to separate agreements)
2. No Long-Term Contract
There is no long-term contract or membership commitment required for recurring meal prep services.
Clients may cancel, pause, or discontinue service at any time for any reason.
Likewise, the Chef reserves the right to decline, discontinue, or cancel services at any time for any lawful reason, including but not limited to scheduling conflicts, unsafe working conditions, repeated late payments, inappropriate conduct, or inability to meet service expectations.
3. Scheduling & Service Process
Meal preparation services are typically performed in the Client’s home on an agreed recurring schedule, such as:
Weekly on Wednesdays at 10:00 AM
Bi-weekly on Wednesdays at 10:00 AM
(These are examples only; each Client schedule will be individually agreed upon.)
Menu Planning
The Chef will email a draft menu to the Client on or around the Thursday prior to the scheduled service date.
The Client is responsible for reviewing the menu and submitting selections, changes, or approvals no later than 48 hours before service day.
Failure to respond in time may result in the Chef selecting menu items on the Client’s behalf based on known preferences and dietary restrictions.
Day of Service
On the scheduled service day, the Chef will:
Shop for groceries and ingredients
Arrive at the Client’s home
Prepare meals on-site (typically approximately 4–6 hours depending on service scope)
Package meals in reusable food containers
Label prepared meals
Leave printed or written menu/reheating instructions when applicable
Clean the kitchen work area before departure
Cleanup generally includes:
Washing dishes and cookware used during service
Cleaning countertops and cooking surfaces
Sweeping, vacuuming, or mopping as needed
Removing cooking-related trash
4. Pricing & Billing
Flat-Rate Pricing
Meal prep services are billed at a flat rate agreed upon in advance. Pricing includes:
Labor
Grocery shopping
Food costs
Transportation
Packaging and containers
Cleanup
Other associated operating costs
All pricing is customized based on the Client’s requested service level, dietary needs, and household size.
There is no sales tax on services in the State of Oregon.
5. Payment Terms
First Service Payment
The first week of meal prep or personal chef services must be paid in advance before service begins.
Ongoing Billing Cycle
After the initial service period, invoices are issued on a 4-week billing cycle unless otherwise agreed.
Invoices may be paid securely through Stripe or by approved offline payment methods.
Accepted payment methods include:
ACH bank transfer (direct debit)
Credit card
Cash
Check
6. Processing Fees & Discounts
Credit Card Payments
Payments made by credit card incur a 3% non-refundable processing fee.
One-Time ACH Payments
One-time ACH/direct debit payments also incur the processing fee at checkout; however, that fee will be credited back to the Client’s account on their next invoice.
Automatic ACH Payments (Preferred)
Clients who enroll in recurring automatic ACH payments by securely leaving a payment method on file:
Will not be charged any payment processing fees
Will receive a $25 discount on each recurring invoice
The discount begins after the first invoice following enrollment
Cash & Check Payments
Cash and check payments incur no processing fees.
Returned checks may be subject to additional fees and future payment restrictions.
7. Client Responsibilities
The Client agrees to:
Provide safe and sanitary working conditions
Disclose all allergies, dietary restrictions, and food sensitivities
Ensure the kitchen has functioning utilities and reasonable workspace access
Secure pets if necessary for safety
Notify the Chef of cancellations or schedule changes as early as possible
The Chef is not responsible for adverse reactions resulting from undisclosed allergies, sensitivities, or inaccurate dietary information provided by the Client.
8. Food Safety & Storage
Prepared meals should be refrigerated promptly and consumed according to the Chef’s provided recommendations.
The Chef is not responsible for food quality, spoilage, or illness resulting from:
Improper storage
Failure to refrigerate
Cross-contamination after service completion
Consumption beyond recommended timeframes
9. Knife Sharpening Services
Knife sharpening services are available upon request.
Pricing
Services generally begin at $10 per knife
Final pricing is determined case-by-case depending on blade condition, size, style, and required labor
Service Limitations
The Chef reserves the right to:
Decline sharpening services
Outsource sharpening to a third-party cutlery professional
Provide revised pricing estimates before proceeding
Turnaround Time
Estimated turnaround time is approximately 72 hours, though timing may vary.
Liability
All sharpening work includes a workmanship satisfaction guarantee; however:
The Chef is not liable for knives lost, stolen, damaged, or broken during transport or third-party servicing
Some knives may not be serviceable depending on condition or material
10. Catering, Events & Cooking Classes
Large-scale catering, private events, cooking classes, and specialty culinary services may require a separate written agreement or event-specific Terms of Service.
Pricing for these services will be quoted individually based on:
Guest count
Menu complexity
Equipment needs
Staffing
Travel
Service duration
Other event-specific requirements
Services are considered approved once the Client accepts the quoted pricing and scheduling terms.
11. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Clients should provide as much notice as possible for cancellations or schedule changes.
Because ingredients, shopping, and scheduling are planned in advance:
Last-minute cancellations may still be billed partially or fully depending on expenses already incurred
The Chef may attempt to reschedule services when possible but does not guarantee availability
12. Website Use
All content, branding, menus, logos, photographs, recipes, and written materials displayed on the Company website remain the intellectual property of W. Stinnett Personal Chef unless otherwise stated.
Website visitors may not:
Copy or reproduce content without permission
Redistribute materials for commercial purposes
Use Company branding without written consent
The Company may use cookies or analytics tools to improve website functionality and user experience.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, W. Stinnett Personal Chef shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of services or website content.
Clients accept services at their own discretion and acknowledge the inherent risks associated with food preparation, kitchen environments, and sharp tools.
14. Changes to Terms
These Terms may be updated or modified periodically without prior notice. The most current version will be made available upon request or posted on the Company website.
Continued use of services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
